You will be responsible for the overall management and administration in the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Health & Nutrition programme in the context of child survival and development within the country programme. You will be accountable for effective technical leadership, management guidance and programme support to facilitate the application and adaptation of UNICEF policies and strategies to achieve programme goals and expansion of UNICEF assisted health & Nutrition interventions, including the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals.

UNICEF Tanzania is seeking to contract a qualified and highly experienced international consultant to provide expert support for the drafting of the regulations for the Law of the Child Act.

1. Background
The Law of the Child Act was adopted in 2009. This was a major step in Tanzania's efforts to strengthen the protection for children's rights and to establish effective child protection and juvenile justice systems that comply with international standards. The challenge is now taking the law from paper to practice.
