ARUSHA Arusha Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (AUWSA), is a legally established entity responsible for ihe overall operation and management of water supply and sewerage services in Arusha City. AUWSA was established under the Water Works Ordinance CAP. 272 amendment (Act NO.8 of 1997), now repealed by Water Supply and Sanitation Act 2009. It was declared a fully autonomous entity by order of the Minister responsible for Water Affairs in January 1998.

AUWSA’s Vision is “To deliver excellent water supply and sewerage services commensurate with World’s best practices”. The Ministry of Water, EWURA, and Board of Directors provide policies, guidelines and directives to govern the Authority, while guidelines to create and implement operational policies and guidelines to conduct the business of the Authority on day to day basis is vested to the Managing Director.
