Tetra Tech ARD (www.ardinc.com) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential 5 year USAID-funded Market-based Solutions to Reduce Poverty and Improve Nutrition project in Tanzania. The successful candidates will provide long-term technical assistance to promote improved, more nutritious and affordable food products for the vulnerable groups, and value-added of targeted agricultural commodities through improvements in Tanzania's agricultural processing sector. This project will focus on; 1) the agro- processing linkage in the rice, maize and horticulture value chains, 2) increase investment in medium- and small scale enterprises, and 3) make more nutritious process foods available and affordable to vulnerable groups.

Food Processing Specialist

Qualifications:
--Engineering degree from accredited University or college. Advanced degree in Food Science or similar field is preferred;
-Minimum 12 cumulative years of management-level experience in a food processing firm and/or experience working directly with multiple food processing firms in the initial design the facilities, start-up, management of on-going activities, new product development or plant expansion;
--Previous experience in medium to large scale rice and/or maize processing;
--Previous experience as a team leader or project manager required;
--Must be familiar with establishing and maintaining HACCP systems within food processing facilities.
--Previous work in the field of international development is highly desirable;
--Experience for food fortification is also a plus.
--Proficiency in written and spoken English required
--Knowledge of Swahili is preferable.

Food Processing Technician

Qualifications:
--Undergraduate degree from accredited University or college. Advanced degree in Food Science or similar field is preferred;
-- At least 4 years of experience within a food processing firm;
--Demonstrated familiarity with quality assurance in a food processing facility and/or setting up and maintaining HACCP systems.
--Previous experience in food fortification is a plus.
--Work within an international development program is highly desirable;
--Proficiency in written and spoken English required;
--Knowledge of Swahili is preferable.

The Public Health Nutritionist

Qualifications:
--Undergraduate degree in Nutrition;
--Master's Degree in Nutrition and/or MPH preferred;
--10 years managing and/or implementing nutrition programs in Africa (Tanzania country experience preferred);
-- Minimum 5 years of social marketing and/or behavioral change communication, or social mobilization experience preferred;
--At least 3 years of experience implementing nutritional approaches in a rural and remote context.
-Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili.

Business/Enterprise Development Specialist

Qualifications:
--Master's of Business Administration or advanced degree in organizational development, management or closely related field;
--Minimum 10 years supervisory or management consulting experience and at least 6 of those years managing training and capacity building program;
--Demonstrated experience in training, coaching or mentoring managers and industry professionals to achieve higher levels of success;
--Experience in strategic planning, financial statement analysis, and organizational development;
-- Thorough understanding of the domains of agriculture and food processing;
--Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili.
