ARUSHA Arusha Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (AUWSA), is a legally established entity responsible for ihe overall operation and management of water supply and sewerage services in Arusha City. AUWSA was established under the Water Works Ordinance CAP. 272 amendment (Act NO.8 of 1997), now repealed by Water Supply and Sanitation Act 2009. It was declared a fully autonomous entity by order of the Minister responsible for Water Affairs in January 1998.
AUWSA’s Vision is “To deliver excellent water supply and sewerage services commensurate with World’s best practices”. The Ministry of Water, EWURA, and Board of Directors provide policies, guidelines and directives to govern the Authority, while guidelines to create and implement operational policies and guidelines to conduct the business of the Authority on day to day basis is vested to the Managing Director.
To support its growth objectives the Authority is seeking to recruit dynamic, experienced, competent, qualified and committed Tanzanians to fill in the following posts.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
The successful applicant::Must be a holder of;
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (Majoring in Water Resources Engineering) or Advanced Diploma in Water Resources Engineering from a recognized University /Institution.
Registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania (ERB) as Graduate / Professional Engineer.
Should have at least 3 years working experience in water services industry in a reputable large/medium business organization. Must have strong IT knowledge including AUTO CAD, or any other engineering application software.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
i. Head of Water Production Section is responsible for administrative issues on day-to-day basis.
ii. Ensures that there is continuous water production and treatment with chemicals of the right quality all the time from springs, rivers and boreholes.
iii. Ensure proper operations of conventional treatment plant for raw water from river sources.
iv. Ensure that the policies, standards and procedures established for water production and treatment are implemented and strictly adhered to.
v. The efficient and effective management of water sources (boreholes, springs and river) including environmental protection.
vi. Ensure that reporting and information requirements for monitoring the performance of water sources and water treatment are established and properly implemented.
vii. Formulate long term plans and annual budget for water production and treatment.
viii. Reports and provides management with information and statistics regularly, comparing actual performance with approved budge targets showing variances from planned performance and ensures that corrective measures are taken.
ix. Regularly determine resources requirements for proper water production and treatment of adequate quality water.
x. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the Technical Manager.
