National Housing Corporation is seeking applications from suitably qualified and dynamic Tanzanian to join NHC team in the key position of Construction Manager in the Directorate of Property Development and Maintenance.

The Construction Manager (Affordable Housing) Reports direct to the Director of Proprty Development and Maintenance and have overall responsibilities for managing construction services of residential and
Development properties and facilities in an increased supply of community –based affordable housing by planning and implementing.

Specific Duties include:
Responsible for planning organizing directing and control of construction acativities of various development projects.

Act as a professiona l resource providing expertise in construction management and to technical staff in preparing of preliminary and final budgets.

Utilization of value –engineering throughout project design and production drawing phases, planning of construction sequencing

Analysis of requests costs forecasting of data to determine progress toward completion. Develop requests for proposal and other related bid documentation and make recommendations regarding bid selection negotiation contracts with external consultants and contractors.

Ensure work objectives and deliverables are achieved within established scope,cost standards, quality and scheduling parameters

Qualifications and Experience:
A Holder of a Degree in Architecture, Engineering (Civil) Builind technology or its equivalent A least 5 years of relevant work experience in managing variety of construction in residential construction industry, including experience in multiple size and type of affordable residential development.

Postgraduate studies will be added advantage.

In deph knowledge and understanding NHC operations and housing programme and policies Knowledge of construction and market trend,standard construction costs

Leadership Communication negotiation and presentation skills Good analytical and organization skills
Excellent communication skills both in Kiswahili and English
